The global smartphone market showed signs of stabilizing in 2025. According to Counterpoint Research, worldwide smartphone shipments grew by 2% compared to 2024, marking a modest but significant recovery after several difficult years for the industry.
In this context, Apple became the best-selling smartphone brand worldwide in 2025, overtaking Samsung and taking the number one spot. Apple captured roughly 20% of global smartphone shipments, placing it ahead of Samsung, which holds a market share of around 19%.

In third place we find Xiaomi (13%), which remains the king of value for money in emerging markets, followed by Vivo. A pleasant surprise comes from the smaller brands area: Nothing grew by 31%, and Google (Pixel) by 25%, a sign that the public is starting to look for alternatives to the usual suspects.
